Construction Project Manager

Bridgeman Recruitment Services Ltd

Construction Project Engineer

Healthcare Projects | Modern Methods of Construction | National Travel

We are recruiting for an ambitious and technically strong Construction Project Engineer to join a specialist contractor delivering complex healthcare projects across the UK.

This is a pivotal coordination role supporting the Construction Manager and Project Manager to ensure packages are procured, managed and delivered safely, on time and within budget.

If you are organised, commercially aware and looking to progress toward senior site or project management, this role offers genuine exposure and development.

The Role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will take responsibility for coordinating assigned construction packages from procurement through to completion.

You will act as the link between site, design and commercial teams — ensuring information flows, progress is tracked and subcontractors are aligned with programme requirements.

This is a hands-on role with regular site attendance and national travel as projects require.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Construction Manager and Project Manager in delivering construction packages.

Monitor progress against programme, drawings and specifications.

Assist with subcontractor procurement, assessment and negotiation (time, cost, quality and variations).

Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to meet programme milestones.

Manage technical submittals and ensure approvals are secured in line with project requirements.

Finalise purchase details for materials and deliveries for review and approval.

Attend progress and subcontractor meetings.

Maintain project trackers, reporting systems and quality documentation.

Liaise with commercial teams regarding variations and package performance.

Support defect management and quality control processes.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

* Experience within construction or engineering project delivery (main contractor or specialist contractor environment).

* Strong organisational and coordination skills.

* Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.

* Commercial awareness and confidence dealing with subcontractors.

* Proactive and solutions-focused mindset.

* Willingness to travel nationally and attend site regularly.

Experience within healthcare or technically complex environments is desirable but not essential.

This role would suit:

A Site Engineer looking to broaden commercial exposure.

An Assistant Project Manager seeking more package responsibility.

A Project Coordinator ready to step into a more accountable engineering role.

The Business

You will be joining a privately owned construction and engineering company delivering healthcare projects using Modern Methods of Construction.

The company has a strong team culture, clear values and a collaborative working environment. Projects are technically interesting, fast-paced and make a real difference within live healthcare settings.

There is a genuine focus on mentoring, development and progression.

What’s On Offer

* Competitive salary

* Discretionary bonus scheme

* 23 days annual leave + bank holidays (increasing with service)

* Contributory pension scheme

* Optional private healthcare

* Subsidised gym membership

* Employee Assistance Programme

* Funded training and professional development

* Early finish Fridays

* Clear progression pathway into senior site or project leadership roles

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a growing and forward-thinking construction business delivering meaningful healthcare projects nationwide.

If you are ready for greater responsibility and exposure across technical, commercial and programme functions, we would love to hear from you
