Opportunity for a mid-level Estimator to join a medium sized main contractor based in the Hertfordshire area working across all sectors.

About the role of Estimator

We are looking for a mid level Estimator, someone with 5+ years experience, to join our team in our Hertfordshire office.

We are a medium sized main contractor, specialising in the education, healthcare, heritage, community & leisure, religious buildings, commercial, residential & blue light & MOD sectors.

As an Estimator in our team, you will be working on projects valued anywhere up to £10m. We are looking for someone who has experience working across various of the above sectors, and has worked for a small-medium sized main contractor like ourselves.

You will be working alongside 3 other Estimators of different levels within the team where you will be expected to handle the reviewing of tender documents, quantity take-offs, costing, etc.

Responsibilities for Estimator

Reviewing tender documents
Quantity take-offs
Cost estimating & pricing
Creating & compiling the Estimate
Bid preparation & submission
Risk management
Tracking & monitoring project costs
Collaboration with the project team
Supplier & subcontractor negotiation
Reporting & documentation
Using estimating software and tools
Post contract support

Requirements for Estimator

5+ years estimating experience
Experience working for a small-medium sized main contractor
Experience across either/or education, healthcare, heritage, community & leisure, religious buildings, commercial, residential, blue light & MOD sectors
Experience working on projects valued up to £10m
Commutable distance to Hertfordshire
