We at randstad are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Agent to join a major infrastructure team delivering a critical 80km section of the HS2 high-speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.
This is a prestigious opportunity to work on one of the UK's most significant civil engineering projects, specifically focusing on the portal building team in the Chipping Warden area.

As a Senior Site Agent, you will play a lead role in the construction strategy and execution of portal structures. You will be responsible for the technical and operational success of your section, ensuring works are delivered to the highest safety, quality, and budgetary standards.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction & Strategy: Assist with construction strategy, including kick-off meetings and the development of pre-commencement documentation (Method Statements, Environmental & Quality Plans).

Operational Management: Liaise with the Agent, Sub Agent, and Section Foreman to effectively allocate labor, plant, materials, and temporary works.

Team Leadership: Manage, develop, and mentor the site engineering team, taking direct responsibility for their performance.

SHEQ & Compliance: Coordinate construction operations to ensure they conform to contract requirements and maintain rigorous Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.

Project Controls: Manage the production of programmes, progress reports, resource/cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting and material reconciliations.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Certification

Degree/HNC: Civil Engineering or Construction-related discipline (or equivalent).

CSCS Card: Mandatory (Black, White, White/Yellow, Yellow, or Red Experienced).

SMSTS: Mandatory.

Driving License: Full ​UK drivers license

Experience & Skills

Technical Expertise: Strong demonstration of site engineering activities combined with practical construction supervision.

Leadership: Proven experience in people management and team development.

Specialism (Desirable): Experience with portal building and tunnels is highly advantageous.
