Our client delivers high-quality groundwork packages for regional and national housebuilding companies and, following recent project commencements and a strong pipeline of secured contracts, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor (Groundworks/Civils) to join their dynamic commercial team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring financial efficiency and control across multiple groundwork schemes.

Quantity Surveyor Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, and overheads

* Monitor project expenditure and implement effective cost control measures

* Conduct financial feasibility studies for proposed projects

* Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure accurate pricing and procurement

* Prepare tender documentation and assist with bid evaluations

* Maintain accurate financial records including valuations, applications, and payments

* Produce regular cost reports and forecasts for senior management

* Support in resolving cost and contractual disputes where required

Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the housebuilding or groundwork sector

* Strong understanding of cost control principles and commercial management

* Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail

* Proficient in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Proactive, solution-focused approach to problem solving

* Ability to work collaboratively within a commercial team environment
