CCTV Survey Crew Leader
Our client is seeking an experienced CCTV Survey Crew Leader to lead a 2–3 person field team delivering high-quality CCTV sewer network surveys across the UK.
This is a leadership role suited to a skilled operative ready to take responsibility for team performance, client delivery, and operational excellence.
A current OS19X Sewer Condition Classification qualification is essential, along with proven experience in a similar role.
The Role
As a CCTV Survey Crew Leader, you will oversee a small site-based team responsible for surveying wastewater assets both above and below ground. You will ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in line with client and industry standards.
You will lead by example — maintaining high technical standards, ensuring health and safety compliance, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a 2–3 person CCTV survey crew
* Carry out CCTV surveys of sewer networks using state-of-the-art equipment
* Classify sewer conditions in line with OS19X standards
* Identify defects and accurately record survey data
* Navigate drainage networks using GIS mapping systems
* Complete detailed reports and annotate plans
* Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations
* Liaise professionally with clients, stakeholders, and the public
* Support operational planning and ensure projects are delivered to deadline
About You
You are an experienced CCTV operative with strong technical knowledge and the confidence to lead a team in the field. You take ownership of your work, prioritise safety, and deliver consistently high standards.
Essential
* Proven experience in a CCTV drainage/survey role
* Current OS19X Sewer Condition Classification qualification
* Strong knowledge of public sewer networks and domestic drainage systems
* Experience navigating drainage systems using GIS mapping
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Demonstrable reliability and flexibility
Desirable
* Confined Spaces Certification
* NRSWA Signing, Lighting & Guarding qualification
* Experience working on highways and in wastewater environments
Working Environment
This is a field-based role requiring flexibility and a hands-on approach. You will:
* Work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Travel to sites across the UK
* Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and overtime where required
* Undertake manual handling, including lifting heavy inspection chamber covers
* Work in confined spaces and on highways
Mandatory drug and alcohol testing applies to this role. A DBS check will also be undertaken.
About the Team
You will be part of a specialist Asset, Surveying and Inspection team delivering industry-leading services to the UK Water Industry. The wider team supports water networks, drainage, leakage consultancy, water resources, and efficiency programmes.
Survey crews gather critical data from wastewater assets including reservoirs, dams, highways infrastructure, and treatment facilities — helping reduce water leakage, prevent flooding, and protect local communities.
