A well-established construction consultancy based in Manchester city centre is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their growing healthcare team. This Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of NHS refurbishments, primary care facilities and specialist clinical environments across the North West. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with NHS Trusts, estates teams and framework contractors on schemes typically ranging from £2m-£25m.

The Assistant Project Manager will assist in managing projects from feasibility and business case stages through to construction and handover. The Assistant Project Manager will support procurement via public sector frameworks and administer contracts under JCT and NEC forms. You must have prior construiction consultancy experience as a Assistant Project Manager to be considered for this role.

The 'Assistant Project Manager's' role

The Assistant Project Manager will attend stakeholder meetings with clinical leads, estates managers and contractor teams. The Assistant Project Manager will assist in preparing tender documentation, monitoring contractor performance and managing change control procedures. Many projects will be delivered within live hospital or clinical environments, requiring careful phasing, infection control awareness and compliance with HTM and HBN standards.

The Assistant Project Manager will also support monthly reporting, risk register updates and coordination of multidisciplinary consultants to ensure compliance with programme and funding requirements.

The 'Assistant Project Manager'

The successful Assistant Project Manager will hold a degree in Construction Management, Project Management or similar and be working towards MRICS, MAPM or MCIOB accreditation. Previous consultancy-side experience within healthcare or public sector projects is essential. A working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, alongside an understanding of healthcare compliance standards, is highly desirable.
