Overview

My market-leading client is seeking a motivated Sustainability Consultant to join their growing Manchester studio. This is an excellent opportunity for a sustainability professional looking to develop their career within a global design practice delivering high-profile, interdisciplinary projects.

You will support the delivery of sustainability strategies across a diverse range of sectors including workplace, healthcare, education, sport, leisure, and residential. Working alongside senior consultants and design teams, you will play a key role in delivering practical, measurable sustainability outcomes across projects.

Day-to-Day

Support the development and delivery of sustainability strategies across projects

Assist in conducting environmental and building performance assessments

Contribute to sustainability reporting and performance monitoring

Work closely with architects, engineers and project teams to embed sustainability principles into designs

Support senior consultants with client presentations and workshops

Participate in CPD, training, and mentoring opportunities

Responsibilities

Assist in the delivery of BREEAM assessments

Support net zero carbon strategies and whole life carbon assessments

Contribute to environmental certifications such as LEED, WELL, Ska or NABERS

Use tools such as One Click LCA to support life cycle impact assessments

Assist with ESG reporting and sustainability benchmarking

Support ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 aligned operational sustainability initiatives

Keep up to date with relevant environmental legislation and emerging industry standards

Qualifications & Experience

1-4 years' experience in a built-environment sustainability consultancy role

Experience supporting environmental assessments (BREEAM preferred)

Familiarity with tools such as One Click LCA, IES, or similar modelling software

Understanding of UK building regulations and environmental policy

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams

Working towards relevant professional accreditation (e.g. BREEAM AP, WELL AP, IEMA) desirable
