An established and design-focused architectural practice based in West Devon is seeking a talented Architectural Technician (CIAT) to join its growing technical team.

The studio delivers a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and heritage projects, with a strong emphasis on quality, sustainability and thoughtful design. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven professional who enjoys seeing projects through from planning to completion and takes pride in delivering robust, well considered construction information.

The Role:

As a key member of the technical team, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating detailed design information across multiple project stages. You will work closely with architects, designers and external consultants to ensure schemes are delivered efficiently, accurately and in compliance with current legislation.

The role includes:

Producing detailed technical drawings and construction packages using Revit

*

Coordinating technical design across all RIBA stages

*

Preparing planning and Building Regulation submissions

*

Liaising with clients, consultants and contractors

*

Ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations and Building Safety requirements

*

Integrating sustainable and environmentally responsible design strategies into technical delivery

*

Applying knowledge of Part L and Part O, energy performance, materials selection and low-carbon construction methods

Projects include high-quality new-build homes, extensions, conversions and selected commercial and heritage schemes.

About You:

You will be a proactive and detail-oriented professional who values precision and collaboration.

Essential requirements include:

CIAT membership (or working towards chartered status)

*

Minimum 5 years’ UK experience

*

Strong background in UK residential design and construction

*

Advanced proficiency in Revit and understanding of BIM workflows

*

Excellent knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction standards

*

Strong technical detailing and problem-solving capability

*

Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively

*

Sound understanding of sustainability principles and environmental standards within the built environment

*

Full right to work in the UK
