Assistant Project Manager

An established multidisciplinary construction consultancy in Birmingham is looking to appoint an Assistant Project Manager within their education sector team. This Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of primary and secondary school refurbishments, academy trust expansions and further education campus upgrades.

The Assistant Project Manager will assist in delivering projects across RIBA Stages 1-7, supporting procurement via traditional and Design & Build routes under JCT contracts. The Assistant Project Manager will contribute to programme monitoring, risk management and compliance with ESFA and local authority funding requirements. You must have prior construiction consultancy experience as a Assistant Project Manager to be considered for this role.

The 'Assistant Project Manager's' role

The Assistant Project Manager will attend stakeholder meetings with headteachers, estates managers and contractor teams. The Assistant Project Manager will assist in preparing tender documentation, managing change control and supporting contract administration duties. Many projects will be delivered within live school environments, requiring careful phasing and safeguarding awareness.

The 'Assistant Project Manager'

The successful Assistant Project Manager will hold a construction-related degree and be working towards MRICS, MAPM or MCIOB status. Previous consultancy experience delivering education or public sector projects is essential. Knowledge of JCT contracts and framework delivery is highly desirable.
