Environmental Lead

A leading specialist civil engineering contractor are looking for you to join them as Sustainability Manager where you will be responsible for overseeing the environmental performance of their projects across the Suffolk region and surrounds. You will establish where improvements can be made and drive compliance across an exciting and challenging site portfolio. As well as this you will be responsible for:

• Developing and leading the Environmental strategy for the business
• Supporting external audits for Carbon, Timber, Waste and ISO 14001
• Identifying and supporting training needs within the business
• Leading Sustainability initiative within the business
• Analysis and reporting of Environmental data
• Identifying aspects of the Company’s activities that can interact with the environment
• Carries out internal communications e.g.: emails and environmental updates and alerts.
• Acting as a point of contact for environmental and sustainability matters with key stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulators
• Supporting projects and providing environmental advice with regard to design, legal compliance and construction.

You will be the Environmental figurehead within the group as such will possess the gravitas and experience to make a difference. You will also be:

• An Experienced Environmental manager who has worked within the construction, utilities and or civil engineering industry
• Professional, honest and resilient
• Able to communicate at appropriate levels in the client organisation with professionalism.
• Well-versed in Environmental legislation, best practice, and a desire to constantly improve
• Qualified in relevant discipline
• Experienced in ISO 14001 and internal auditing
• Member of IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM

To be successful in this role you will need to be a proactive and self-motivated individual who works well under pressure also have the ability to influence and inspire others with a genuine passion about sustainability in the built environment.

You will earn an exceptionally competitive salary of between £55-65,000 plus car/car allowance and full package and will join a forward thinking and dynamic company with superb HSEQ sensibilities
