Salary: £40,000 – £45,000

This organisation operates within the construction and manufacturing sector, supporting the delivery of a variety of structural building projects. The Estimator role focuses on producing accurate cost assessments that inform commercial decisions and ensure well‑prepared tender submissions. We are particularly interested in speaking with estimators who have experience in structural steel, timber frame or LGSF. This position would suit someone who enjoys analytical work, collaborating with clients and colleagues, and contributing to a smooth transition from tender through to design. The role offers opportunities to broaden technical knowledge, work across multiple project types and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Quantify project costs across technical and site-related elements for loadbearing steel schemes
Produce accurate estimations using internal commercial preliminary take‑off tools
Review client documentation to ensure all required information is available for quotation
Provide clients with clear details of key plans and layout information
Advise on cost implications or variations due to design changes
Liaise with clients and colleagues to identify value engineering opportunities
Manage commercial queries and support a comprehensive sales handover process
Collaborate with purchasing and sales to maintain up‑to‑date cost information and improve handover qualityExperience Required:

Minimum 2 years' experience in estimating timber frame, structural steel or LGSF
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
Strong organisational and time‑management skills
Effective communication skills, written and verbal
Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability
Understanding of manufacturing processes
