Senior Engineer (Power Generation / Energy Infrastructure) – Grange Castle, Dublin
€75,000-€85,000 + Package
Our client is a leading international main contractor delivering complex, high-value projects across Ireland and Europe. With a strong track record in mission-critical, energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors, they are known for delivering technically challenging projects to the highest safety and quality standards.
This role is based on a large-scale power regeneration / energy generation facility in Grange Castle. The project forms part of critical energy infrastructure supporting grid resilience and long-term power capacity. It involves significant civil, structural and MEP coordination within a highly regulated, safety-first environment.
The Senior Engineer will take ownership of key technical packages on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and in line with strict quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role, reporting into the Project Manager / Senior Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead day-to-day site engineering for allocated works/packages (setting-out, coordination, checks, quality control).
• Review drawings/specs; raise RFIs and manage technical queries to keep delivery moving.
• Coordinate with Design / BIM, temporary works, and package managers to ensure buildability and correct sequencing.
• Manage and close out ITPs, inspections, test records, and handover documentation.
• Ensure materials and workmanship meet spec; support snagging, commissioning readiness, and handover.
• Drive subcontractor performance: lookaheads, permits, RAMS compliance, progress tracking.
• Maintain strong alignment with Health & Safety, ensuring works follow best practice and site procedures.
• Produce clear reporting on progress, constraints and upcoming resource needs.
Required Experience / Background
• 5+ years’ experience in a main contractor environment (senior engineer level).
• Strong technical background across civil/structural delivery (and comfort working alongside MEP/utilities teams on industrial builds).
• Experience on one or more of: energy / power, data centres, pharma, industrial or other critical infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC, setting-out, permits-to-work environment, and safe systems of work.
• Ability to lead, coordinate and communicate across multi-discipline teams and subcontractors.
Qualifications
• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering / Construction Engineering / related discipline.
• CSCS/Safe Pass and relevant site training (or ability to obtain quickly).
• Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor (advantageous, not essential).
