Project Manager – Civil Engineering

Our client, a well-established and highly regarded civil engineering contractor, is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team in the North West. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the delivery of some of the region’s most prestigious infrastructure schemes, managing civils and earthworks projects from inception through to completion.

The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of civils and earthworks projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

* Leading the delivery of civils and earthworks projects from pre-construction through to handover

* Managing site teams, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution

* Overseeing project programmes and driving progress to meet key milestones

* Managing budgets, forecasts, and cost control

* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

* Liaising with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships

* Managing risk, resolving technical and operational challenges, and driving performance

* Overseeing procurement of materials and subcontract packages

What are we looking for

Proven experience in:

* Leading and delivering civils and earthworks projects

* Managing multi-disciplinary site teams

* Earthworks operations and large-scale bulk excavation

* Roads, drainage, and infrastructure works

* Contract administration and commercial awareness

* Programme management and reporting

* Strong leadership and communication skills

* Ability to drive performance and maintain high standards on site

* Commercial awareness with a proactive approach to problem-solving

* Relevant civil engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
