Elvet Recruitment are recruiting a Contracts Manager to join a respected regional main contractor in the Newcastle Area.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of multiple construction projects across new build and refurbishment schemes. Provide strong leadership to site teams, ensure compliance with company standards, and maintain excellent relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners. Use practical, trade‑based experience to drive buildability, quality and programme certainty.

Experience

Must have:

* Strong background in a trade, site management or site engineering role, progressing into project or contracts management.

* Proven experience delivering new build and refurbishment projects for a main contractor.

* Knowledge of commercial, education, local authority and social housing environments.

* Strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and buildability.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.

* Confident communicator with strong client‑facing skills.

* Solid understanding of commercial processes, cost control and contract administration.

* SMSTS, Temporary Works, Appointed Person, First Aid.

Nice to have:

* Experience working within a regional contractor environment.

* Knowledge of frameworks, local authority procurement routes and social housing compliance standards.

* IT literacy including MS Project or similar programming tools.

Remuneration:

The client are looking to pay between £65,000 and £75,000 DOE + package.
