A well-established commercial and industrial contractor in Bristol is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support their growing commercial team. This is a permanent role offering hands-on experience across a variety of commercial, industrial, and refurbishment projects.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior/Lead Quantity Surveyor, you will assist with the day-to-day commercial management of projects, helping to ensure accurate cost control, timely valuations, and effective contract administration. Key Responsibilities

Support preparation of tender documents and subcontractor enquiries

*

Assist in valuation of work-in-progress and interim applications

*

Help manage change control and variations

*

Maintain accurate commercial records and cost reports

*

Assist in procurement and subcontractor negotiations

*

Support senior QS in identifying and mitigating commercial risks

*

Liaise with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors

Skills & Experience

*

Some experience in quantity surveying, ideally within construction, fit-out, or refurbishment projects

*

Familiarity with NEC, JCT, or other UK construction contracts

*

Strong numeracy and attention to detail

*

Excellent communication and organisational skills

*

Ability to work under supervision and take initiative when required

*

Relevant qualification (HNC/HND in QS, RICS/AssocRICS part-qualified, or similar)

*

Full UK driving licence
