The Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of mechanical building services systems across a diverse range of projects, including Hospitals, Universities, Prisons, Residential and Education schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop detailed mechanical designs including HVAC systems, heating and cooling plant, domestic water services, drainage, and ventilation systems.
* Carry out thermal modelling, load calculations, feasibility studies, and energy efficiency assessments.
* Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated and fully integrated designs.
* Prepare technical drawings and specifications using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, or similar.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practice guidelines (e.g., CIBSE, BSRIA, Building Regulations).
* Attend project meetings, undertake site visits, and conduct inspections to monitor installation progress and resolve technical issues.
* Assist in the preparation of technical reports, tender documentation, and design specifications.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in mechanical design within the building services sector (minimum 2 years preferred).
* Proficiency in relevant design and modelling software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, or similar.
* Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and industry best practices.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
