Our client, a growing construction and electrical contracting business based in Bedford, delivers projects across building, engineering, fit-out and electrical services. They are now seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead compliance, governance and performance across the organisation.
This is a hands-on leadership role within an SME environment, working closely with senior management to drive a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across multiple UK sites.
Key Responsibilities for a Health & Safety Manager:
* Leading and developing the company’s Health & Safety Management System.
* Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and all relevant H&S legislation.
* Managing the corporate risk register and overseeing audits and inspections.
* Producing KPI dashboards and performance reports for senior leadership.
* Leading incident investigations and implementing preventative actions.
* Supporting project teams with RAMS, CPPs and subcontractor compliance.
Key Skills for a Health & Safety Manager:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction or electrical contracting.
* NEBOSH General and Construction Certificate (essential).
* Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and risk management.
* Confident communicator, able to influence at all levels.
* Commercially aware and solutions-focused.
