Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: £55,000 + Car Allowance
Permanent: Hybrid working available
The organisation designs and delivers sustainable, low‑carbon homes and offsite construction solutions, drawing on over five decades of expertise within a wider UK group of established timber and construction‑related businesses.
This role supports the commercial management of projects ranging from small works to multi‑million‑pound schemes, ensuring strong financial control and contract compliance. It would suit a Quantity Surveyor with solid construction sector knowledge who is looking to progress and contribute to a collaborative commercial team.
The position offers structured development, varied project work and the chance to support junior colleagues while helping maintain high customer satisfaction and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead project setup, cost control processes and contract administration
Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation and payment procedures
Produce monthly cost reports and present financial insights to senior management
Monitor cash flow, commercial risks and credit compliance
Review contract order documents and negotiate within defined commercial parameters
Collaborate with pre‑construction, construction and finance teams to ensure smooth project delivery
Provide guidance and support to Assistant Quantity Surveyors
Uphold all Health & Safety and Environmental Policy requirementsExperience Required:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or RICS membership, or equivalent experience
Strong understanding of standard forms of contract
Knowledge of the construction sector, ideally including offsite or timber‑frame environments
Strong commercial acumen, financial analysis skills and experience with cost reporting
Confident communicator with the ability to resolve challenges and negotiate effectively
Methodical planning skills with strong attention to detailDesirable:
Experience working on projects between £50k and £5M
Previous involvement in developing or mentoring junior team members
Familiarity with value engineering principlesAdditional Information:
37.5‑hour working week, Monday to Friday
