Fire Protection/Doors Contracts Manager
Position: Contracts Manager Location: Whitstable Head Office and various UK sites (in‑person) Type: Full-Time Start Date: Immediate Salary: £55-65k DOE Hours: 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday Holidays: 28 days per year including bank holidays
A rapidly expanding fire protection organisation is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join the team. The company delivers a full range of passive fire protection services nationwide and is strengthening its management structure to support continued growth.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will bring strong industry knowledge and at least three years' experience in a similar role. They will be proactive, confident, and comfortable taking a hands‑on approach to managing projects from start to finish.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing projects and costs from initial brief through to completion.
Preparing estimates and overseeing installation of passive fire protection systems and intumescent coatings.
Planning project timelines and ensuring all work meets required standards and manufacturer specifications.
Coordinating with site teams to ensure smooth delivery and clear communication.
Carrying out site visits to assess requirements and support accurate quotations.
Participating in weekly project reviews to monitor progress and deadlines.
Producing RAMs and health & safety documentation and ensuring compliance across all staff.
Uploading clients, projects, drawings and RAMs to the BORIS system ahead of project start dates.
Supporting wider business development through client engagement and proposals.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum three years' experience as a Contracts Manager.
Strong background in passive fire protection and intumescent paint.
Solid understanding of fire‑stopping methods and products.
Valid SMSTS and CSCS certifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Confident decision‑maker with strong on‑site management ability.
Experience using the BORIS system in office and site environments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide at short notice.
